Bush speech in
the light of
Bible prophecy |
A speech by the British prime minister in Dubai
demonstrates
the close links between Tarshish and the Arabian
Peninsula as seen in Ezekiel 38:13. The speech also
links with prophecies concerning peace and safety,
Iran, and the call to “wake up”. |

Echoes of the
sixth trumpet in Kosovo |
A fourteenth-century victory by the Ottomans against
the Serbs has ever since helped to define the
identity of Serbia. This defeat relates to the sixth
trumpet period, and it is also having ramifications
today as Nebuchadnezzar’s image
continues to form in the last days. |

Pushing the
Turks out of
Jerusalem in 1917 |
In Daniel 11:40 the king of the south
pushes against the latter-day equivalent of “the king” of
verse 36. The campaign by British forces to push the Turks
out of Palestine during the First World War was a fulfilment
of this prophecy. The capture of Jerusalem by Allenby in
1917 was a key event of this campaign. A book written by a
soldier involved in the British campaign in Palestine
provides an interesting insight into the events of 1917. |

Euphrates
rising? |
The drying up of the Euphrates as foretold in the
sixth vial was mostly fulfilled by the demise of the
Ottoman Empire. Yet as long as Turkey still exists
the Euphrates is not fully dry. In fact, Turkey has
recently been seeking to increase its influence in
the Middle East. |

bordersat the time of the end. Three recent examples
have shown that, even now, Russia is looking beyond
its borders. |

Hamastan and
Fatahland |
The coup by Hamas in Gaza and
the control of the West Bank by Fatah has seemingly
separated these two areas into distinct entities.
This reflects their separate roles in prophecy. |

Israel - forty
years on |
This month is the fortieth anniversary of the
Six-Day War. Current events in Jerusalem, Hebron and
Gaza have their roots in the outcomes of that war.
Moreover, these events show that prophecies relating
to the time of the end, such as Luke 21, Zechariah
12, Joel 3 and Ezekiel 38, are nearing fulfilment. |

Elam in the
latter days |
Elam was a separate power in ancient times,
retaining its identity, even under Persian rule.
Consequently, Elam, the modern-day province of
Khuzestan, has a separate role to play from Iran in
the latter days. |

The return of the Latin Mass |
Latin became the official language of the Roman
Catholic Church, and it helped unite the Holy Roman
Empire. In the 1960s, however, the use of the Latin
Mass was replaced
by rites in local languages. There are reports that
Pope Benedict XVI plans to issue a decree in favour
of the Latin Mass. This would emphasise the Roman
roots of the Beast of Revelation 17. |

The developing
brass mountains |
The increased self-confidence of Russia, shown in a
recent speech by President Putin, and the increase
in military spending by Gulf Arab states, are signs
that the brass mountains in Zechariah 6 are fast
developing. |

Cyprus and
Turkey |
The Turkish presence in Cyprus shows that the drying
up of the Euphrates in Revelation 16 is not yet
complete. This presence is hindering talks about
Turkey joining the EU. Meanwhile, a company in
Cyprus is controlling the largest Russian shipping
company, perhaps a precursor to Balaam’s prophecy
about ships and Chittim. |
