The final development of Nebuchadnezzar's image?
The final phase of Nebuchadnezzar’s image sees
it standing complete before the stone hits its feet. Signs in Europe
and the Middle East that indicate movements towards this situation
are therefore encouraging to those looking for the establishment of
God’s Kingdom on earth.|

Wisdom for all
Brother Aleck Crawford’s exposition of
the Proverbs is a unique work in the literature of the
Truth, a study in depth of the Proverbs of Solomon, the son
of David, king of Israel. His exposition is in three
volumes: the first covers Proverbs 1-9, and Volume 2 deals
with chapter 10 through to 22:16. This review is of the
third of the three volumes, which covers Proverbs 22:17 to
the end of the book. This section covers the words of the
wise proverbs of Solomon, collected by Hezekiah, the words
of Agur son of Jakeh, and the wonderful final chapter by
King Lemuel, who was instructed by his mother. |

IRAN SCENES
Relief of soldiers, Persepolis
Before we leave Persepolis, it is worth taking a
closer look at one further detail. Bearing in mind that most of what
is left of the city is about 2,500 years old, it is remarkable that
parts of it are still in excellent condition. | Read more

Vines and figs
The picture of every man sitting “under
his vine and under his fig tree” (Mic. 4:4) in the Kingdom
is a familiar one to us, evoking the idea of relaxation
after a day’s work in the fields, overshadowed by trees
laden with luscious fruit. This picture is not confined to
Micah, for Zechariah speaks in similar terms: “In that day,
saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his
neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree” (3:10); and
in the peaceful and prosperous days of Solomon, typical in
many ways of the Kingdom, “Judah and Israel dwelt safely,
every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan
even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon” (1 Kgs. 4:25).
